I don’t know about you but I LOVE LOVE LOVE rice pudding! Like I could eat it all day, there is just something about it that I love it’s almost like it is a drug for me. Now I don’t eat it that often because well it isn’t very healthy but when I do have it it’s like that is all I eat.
There is a brand that I do like from the store but it can sure get pricy fast. I have made rice pudding in the past many times and I think it tastes better than store bought! Anytime I have made it in the past was in the oven in a casserole dish but I thought why not make it in my slow cooker seeing how it is just hanging around doing nothing.
Now you can change it to your liking but I like to make it this way…. Also I know the pictures are bad I took them off of my phone only because my DSLR batteries were dead and I couldn’t wait to try it!
2/3 white rice (long grain)
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract or a vanilla bean
1-2 cinnamon sticks or 1 tbs ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
This is going to be the easiest thing ever to make! And it will taste so good plus you get a good amount!
1. Rinse the rice in cold water
2. Add all the ingredients into your slow cooker and stir around so the sugar can dissolve
3. Keep your slow cooker on high for 2-3 hours depending on how high your slow cooker goes to. I did mine for 2 hours and then an hour with the lid off only because I don’t like creamy rice pudding
Serve and enjoy! I like to add some extra cinnamon onto it. The best part about rice pudding is you can eat it warm or cold.
If you do make this I sure hope you like it! I have planned more dishes to make with the slow cooker so be sure to follow so you can get some more recipes and all other goodies I post on my blog!
