Top Hair Products

Hair we all have it or had it at one time… I only say that because I have been known to have some out there cuts or no hair at all but those days are gone! I often get asked what are some good products for all sorts of hair issues and I also tried a lot of products so I am normally good at helping. It also helps that I went to beauty school and was a hairdresser in a salon now I just do it out of my house. In my time I have come across a lot of bad products and also a lot of good products so this post is my top hair products.

Now you’re not going to want to hear this but really your hair all starts with your diet! You are what you eat and it really affects your hair! If you don’t like to eat healthy and we all like to eat junk food at times so don’t worry, you should take a multi vitamin or you can find vitamins meant just for your hair. There are so many out there you can find them at your local store. Fish oil is also a good pill to take but it can smell bad so you just need find something that works for you! I take biotin and even tho it’s a big pill I have found it helps my hair!

Aside from vitamins and having a good diet you MUST drink water and lots of it! I know this can’t be the first time you have heard this! Any kind of water is good for your hair and the rest of your body! Aside from drinking my typical water I also really enjoy coconut water and aloe water! They are all good for your hair and body!

You also need to make sure you are using the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type! Also I need to say that you can have thick hair but not a lot of it just like you can have thin hair and a lot of it. Myself I have thin hair but A LOT of it! So I can’t use anything that is heavy or else my hair looks greasy! I absolutely love buying shampoo and conditioner! Not kidding my shower has about 5 different types plus I have another 4 or 5 different kinds in my closet and I even have some more in my parents shower! I am always buying new kinds to see if they are worth it. I have many kinds that I love but one line that I find is the best that is affordable would be OGX. Anything from their line will work wonders and they work for all hair types! I personally use their product line all the time! I have nothing bad to say about them.

Aside from shampoo and conditioner another must have hair product is leave in conditioner. This is a HUGE must for anyone! I don’t care if you think you don’t need it because I am telling you that you do! There are so many different kinds out there with different types of thickness. If I have been at the pool and I normally am I use a thick cream one. It will give my hair the hydration it needs and makes my hair SO easy to comb out! If it is just a normal kind of day then I use a light spray something that won’t make my hair feel heavy or look greasy! Just read the labels if you don’t know what to buy almost all the time on the front of the product container it will say what type it is.

One of the hardest things for me to find that I really like is a dry shampoo. I am always buying them and because I have dark hair it always makes my hair look white, even after I brush it through. Not a good look for me! Don’t let this turn you off from it because there are a lot of good companies out there that work with my hair it’s just some don’t work good with my hair but this is just me. What works for one person may not work for someone else. But dry shampoo is a huge must for me because I don’t wash my hair everyday and sometimes my hair looks a tad dirty and that is where the dry shampoo comes in. Again there are so many different types out there from a powder to a liquid spray.

If you use ANY heat on your hair then you MUST use a protective spray!!! This is such a huge thing that a good 80-90% of people don’t do! It isn’t just for if you use a straightener or a curling wand you should also use it when you blow-dry your hair! Think about this if you had your oven on at 425 degrees would you stick your hand in there to grab something out? NO because you would burn yourself SO bad, well it is the same with your hair! When using a hot tool you’re doing the same thing but by using a heat protective spray it’s like oven mitts for your hair! SAVE YOUR HAIR!!!!

Last and one of the most important things for me is oil. No not vegetable oil. I use oil ALL the time! I normally add it in my hair after my shower but not a lot just a drop size amount! It helps give my hair that shine and makes my hair feel like silk and having curly hair my curls love the oil! I will also add a little bit extra if I straighten my hair just to give my hair a bit of an extra shine. Not only do I use hair oil I also put coconut oil in my hair at least once a week! I like to massage it into my scalp and make sure to add a lot of it to my ends! I like to leave it on my hair for a few hours sometimes overnight! My hair always feels SO good after!
